I have been talking to your kids about building and being resilient this year and this unprecedented event gives us a great opportunity to model resilience and help them build it.
One way to teach resilience is to use a tree as an example being like us in the way it faces challenges like wind and weather and yet can stand strong if it has a strong root system. Our roots would be our support system; family, friends, pets, etc. In order for the root system to strengthen the tree must face challenges and so it is with our roots. Challenges make us grow stronger and more resilient. Just like the tree when we grow deep we too can bounce back and stand tall!
